It was a usual day all wet and dry
Thoughts were racing and so was I
Was rather too quick to notice
Muddy waters left no footprint
The clouds had drawn and dark
It was raining but not too heavy
A black umbrella drawn in response
Lest I spoil my sharp dress new
A little splash here and there
I am cautious about every step
And till I see a child so merry
I don’t bother to look around
The drizzle had ceased
I realised a second or two late
And my umbrella had been painted
With the vibrancy of red
Gulmohar
was with me since so long
The rain had just kept me busy
Stopping the gulmohar all along
But I brought it along.
